Spiced Sugar Cookies

2012-12-13 15.49.33

2 3/4 cups flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

1 cup butter

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/ 2 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp cinnamon

1.  Preheat oven to 375.

2.  Mix butter and sugar until smooth.

3.  Beat in eggs and vanilla.

4.  Add all dry ingredients and mix until dough forms.

5.  On small plate or bowl put 1/2 cup sugar (since it was Christmas I added red and green sprinkles to this).

6.  Roll balls of dough and dip tops of balls before placing on baking tray.

7.  Bake 8-10 minutes.

I got inspired by this one today.  I was going to make just regular sugar cookies and decided I wanted to change up the game a little bit so I added some spices to give them a little attitude.  Great with milk or a little egg nog (or spiked egg nog if you are feeling really saucy!).
